With crude oil prices softening because of widespread macroeconomic concerns, buyers continue to resist the firm price ideas previously quoted by many paraffin wax suppliers.
With Chinese origin spot prices trading at higher levels in Asia than in Europe, there is little appetite among traders for importing material into Europe. The US dollar-euro exchange rate also continues to deter traders from bringing this material into Europe.
Lagging demand and a high availability of material leads the majority of consumers to anticipate declines to domestic paraffin wax prices

US fully refined paraffin wax (p-wax) markets are seen to be generally steady with prices stable, sources said during the week that ended on 20 June.
While demand from candle makers is said to be steady, a trader noted that seasonality in p-wax buying for candles seems to be disappearing with buying this year more evenly distributed across the calendar.
Many market participants from the Americas are gathered in Quito, Ecuador, this week for the 15th Latin American Conference of Candle Manufacturers sponsored by the Associacion Latino Americana De Fabricantes De Velas (ALAFAVE). Conference participants were paying notice to strong marketing effort for Latin-American palm wax for use in blending with p-wax in candle production.

In China wax market, the downstream buyer has little appetite to buy in; therefore some refineries’ stock increased a lot. Under the situation of insufficient domestic need together with less price advantage in export, it is expected that there is possibility of downward price for paraffin wax till end of June.
Along with the price trend of crude oil, slack wax, white oil, Vaseline all have price reduction to some extent.
